Eureka residents
and visitors enjoyed a very successful Eureka Car Show on Friday evening
May 14, 2010 and Saturday May 15. Activities began with a Main Street
“Cruise-in” Friday evening. DJ Bill Micheli provided music
and entertainment Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Saturday morning, the Eureka
Lion’s Club started the festivities
with an excellent pancake breakfast at the new Eureka Fire House.
The car show and the concurrent Highway 50 yard sale
displayed along
both sides of the main street of historic downtown Eureka. The FFA
washed cars. Mother Nature again supplied perfect weather.

Eighty-seven
vehicles were entered in the show, representing Nevada well, including
the towns of Eureka, Ely, Elko, Wells, Winnemucca, Round Mountain,
Spring Creek, and Lamoille.
Most distance driven was an entry from Taylorsville, Utah at 347 miles.
Cash prizes & trophies were awarded.

DJ's Diner and the Eureka Best Western Motel.

Well-received additions to this year’s
show were the free bounce castle and mini-train ride for kids that ran
during the day and the old west gunfighters’ exhibition at high noon.

Best of Show won $500 cash and a trophy, all best of class won $200 cash
and a trophy, Second place for each class won $100 cash and a trophy and
third place in each class won a trophy.
