2009 Show What Ya Brung Car Show

Eureka residents and visitors enjoyed a very successful Eureka Car Show on Friday evening May 15, 2009 and Saturday May 16. Activities began with a Main Street “Cruise-in” Friday evening and Celtic harpist Patrick Ball performing at the Eureka Opera House. DJ Bill Micheli provided music and entertainment Friday evening and Saturday adding a great deal of energy to the event. Saturday morning, the Eureka Lion’s Club started the festivities with an excellent breakfast. The car show and the concurrent Highway 50 yard sale displayed along both sides of three blocks of historic downtown Eureka. Mother Nature supplied perfect weather.

Seventy-four vehicles were entered in the show, representing Eureka, Ely, Elko, McGill, Carlin, Dayton, Round Mountain, Winnemucca, Spring Creek, Lamoille, and Draper, UT. Cash prizes of $3,350 were awarded, Eureka County Economic Development, C & B Auto Parts, Eureka Supply, The Eureka Gallery and Dan Green donated raffle prizes. Sponsors include Eureka County Recreation Board, Mt. Wheeler Power, Newmont Mining, Eureka Moly, LLC, Barrick Gold, Bath Lumber and Nevada State Bank. Supporters include DJ's Diner, Pony Express Deli & Meats, The Owl Club, Eureka Chevron, and The Best Western.

The date for next year’s car show and Highway 50 yard sale is May 14 & 15, 2010. The Eureka County Economic Development board is already planning additional vehicle classes and associated activities.

Shine up your ride and plan on a yard sale table. Everyone is welcome.
